Recognizing the enormous potential of Electric Vehicles (EV) and Autonomous Vehicles (AV) in the upcoming decades, it is also clear that a single sensor alone could not meet the safety requirements necessary for unmanned driving. Micromax ADAS understands the importance of a comprehensive approach to vehicle safety, and with this in mind, we have focused on the early fusion of multiple sensors and edge computing at the vehicle front and other necessary spots on a vehicle. This approach aims to make EV, AV, or even conventional vehicle driving, much safer and more enjoyable by providing a swifter and more accurate perception system.

By combining the capabilities of various sensors such as cameras, radar, and FIR camera, and utilizing edge computing, we are developing an integrated ADAS solution that creates a reliable, accurate, and efficient system. This approach not only helps ensure the safety of passengers and other road users but also contributes to the advancement of the rapidly growing field of autonomous driving technology. As a result, Micromax ADAS is well-positioned to play a significant role in shaping the future of transportation, and our innovative solutions are designed to meet the ever-evolving safety needs of both EV and AV markets.

We are currently developing and testing a comprehensive set of 12 application modules of ADAS, which include:

Micromax mmWave Radar

When developing ADAS, we discovered that apart from TSR (Traffic Sign Recognition) and LTA (Lane Trace Assist), all other application modules of ADAS require mmWave radar. The radar provides essential information, such as range and relative speed of objects, and it operates effectively in all weather conditions. This makes mmWave radar arguably the most indispensable perception sensor for ADAS, alongside visible cameras. To make mmWave radar more affordable and further enhance our leading position in perception solutions, we began designing the radars and initiated a collaboration with NTUT in 2021 to advance our capabilities in this field. Additionally, our mmWave radar is designed to be a standalone product, making it available for customers to purchase and integrate into their own systems.

Micromax at Computex Taipei 2023

Micromax is thrilled to announce that our ADAS solution and mmWave radar will be on display at the upcoming Computex Taipei 2023, taking place from May 30th to June 2nd this year. Our ADAS perception system will be showcased through a live demonstration featuring a fusion set with a patented invention for visible camera, FIR camera, and mmWave radar integration, mounted on the front of a Lexus RX-450h. Moreover, there will be five fusion sets positioned at the four corners and rear of the vehicle, each set comprising a mmWave radar and a visible camera. This vehicle serves as our ADAS and radar test platform and is also equipped with a control-by-wire system.

To showcase our advancements, we will be creating a carousel video that will visually demonstrate the capabilities and features for some of these modules at the exhibition of Computex 2023.

This exhibition will provide an excellent opportunity for attendees to experience firsthand the capabilities and advancements in our ADAS technology, specifically in the area of patented sensor fusion technology and mmWave radar.
